Working with TeenTech is a great way support young peoples understanding of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. The days develop students’ knowledge and understanding of what careers are available and the qualifications and routes in to industries in their local area.
Take a look at this video filmed at the KC Stadium which explains what goes on:
This is what happened at TeenTech Humber 2016 ….
The event was held at the KC Stadium in July where once again 300 students aged 12-13 had the opportunity to try their hand at experiments, handle leading edge technology and, most importantly, to meet the engineers, technicians and scientists behind their 21st century lives.
TeenTech shows young teenagers how their love for mobile phones and computer games can act as a gateway to a rewarding career developing the next generation of must have gadgets. Even more importantly, this age group is extremely environmentally aware and TeenTech shows them the role science plays in helping the environment.
Over 30 Local & National Employers in Science, Engineering & Technology provide intriguing and practical encounters. The event allows students to be inspired by “real” engineers and have the chance to find out what’s really involved in their work and how important certain subjects like Maths and Physics can be for future careers.
