Join us at The Royal Pavilion Aldershot for a special full-day event where students will have access to exciting demonstrations from leading technology and engineering companies and work with experts to develop their own ideas to tackle problems facing the NHS and the healthcare industry.
Industry experts will discuss the challenges of designing in Augmented Reality and the considerations for different hardware forms (phones, tablets, headsets). We will introduce design concepts, including mood boards, video/text, triggers and the considerations for interactions within Augmented Reality experiences, including gestures and controls. Our presenter will showcase software students can use to visualise their ideas and create wireframes for their AR applications. We will also speak to a UX/UI Designer about her role in creating AR experiences.
Meet Industry Experts who work in preproduction for Animation (in film, television and video games) for an interactive introduction to Animation. We will be setting the challenge for the week, and you'll be able to ask any burning questions to our live guests and us!
This TeenTech Build Your Future Live session on Natural Disasters will consider how infrastructure design responds to natural hazards, including earthquakes, flooding and fire. How can we better predict these events, and what innovative design techniques and technology can allow us to build in challenging environments?
Our industry experts will talk about prototyping for Augmented Reality. What tools do they use? How do teams collaborate, and what are the roles and skills required during this phase? Our presenter will take students through a comprehensive demonstration of AR prototyping software, showing them how they can create their own AR application with working interactions, 2D/3D models, sound/music and more. We will also meet a 3D Modeller who will talk about his role in creating AR experiences.
Today we'll start creating our animations through this practical, tutorial-based session. We'll be showcasing the free tools you can use to create an animation of your own using stop-motion and 2D vector-based techniques.
Join us for our special in-person Innovation Hack, for schools and students in the Solent region. This full-day event will include exciting demonstrations of cutting-edge technology, showcasing exciting careers and opportunities in science, technology and digital media. Students will also have access to and support from industry experts who will help students develop their ideas for tackling real-world problems using science, technology and engineering.
During this live wrap-up session, our industry experts will be on hand to answer any questions that students have come up with during the programme, discuss careers and entry points, and share their next steps and top tips! We will also meet a Unity Developer who will talk about his role in writing code for AR experiences. We'll also showcase some additional projects to inspire students about the future of AR.
Today's session will continue our work on the production process. This week will focus on 3D animation using tools such as Blender. We will feature some tutorials to help get you started, and speak to an expert guest from the world of gaming, Maxime Meriaux (Ubisoft), about the workflow behind animation in video games.

Schools can bring a group of ten students who have taken part in the virtual event on Tuesday 24th May 2023. They will bring their project to the TeenTech Milton Keynes Festival on July 4th where they will develop their project further, receive feedback from experts and also participate in a series of lively challenges and activities which bring the world of science and technology to life.

The TeenTech Festival is a sharply focused event that changes perceptions and helps students understand their own potential. It’s a day that changes minds – especially those who may never have previously considered a career in science or technology! Schools can bring a group of ten students who have taken part in the virtual event on Wednesday 7th June. They will bring their project to the TeenTech Festival on Wednesday 30th August where they will receive feedback from experts and also participate in a series of lively challenges and activities which bring the world of science and technology to life.
Upfront of the festival we will run a live virtual innovation session, on the topic of health technology, after which students will work in teams to create a project to make life better, simpler, easier or more fun. This session is open to as many students as you like. This could be an entire class, or year group. This will be an hour-long morning session, online with guest contributors working in contemporary industry and will feature guests showcasing exciting aspects of their work. The livestream could be viewed from a screen in several classrooms, or large hall if appropriate. Students can interact by submitting questions throughout the live stream. These questions come through to the TeenTech team, who send them through to the presenters to ask on screen. Students are then set an innovation challenge, where they build their own solutions to address real-world problems connected to the session topic. Schools can then bring a group of ten students who have taken part in this event, to the TeenTech Hampshire Festival on Wednesday 11th October at the Hampshire Court Hotel where they will receive feedback from industry experts and participate in a series of lively challenges and activities which bring the world of science and technology to life.
